Voice lessons
Ages 8 and up.
Weekly lessons of one half-hour will be in two basic parts, learning a technique and then applying the technique to a piece the student is working on.
Goals will be outlined after the initial lesson and are dependent on the student’s individual needs.
Goals may include, but are not limited to:
– Learning basics of breathing for singing
– Learning basics of balanced posture
– Learning new repertoire
– Learning performance etiquette
– Audition preparation
The general breakdown of a typical lesson is as follows:
A brief time at the beginning of each lesson will be set aside for the student to check in, and to ask questions and/or comment about the previous week’s lesson. This will be followed by a warm-up and explanation of a technical skill. The last part of the lesson will be dedicated to application of that technique to a piece in the student’s repertoire.
