Music Lessons
Lessons Begin the Week of August 9th. ALL lessons take place next door to leeds: 33 N. main st.
Payment and Cancellation Policy for Private Lessons:
Payment: Private lessons are priced at $40 per lesson. Payment for the entire month's lessons is due on the last day of each month. Payment can be made via Jackrabbit. Students must be enrolled for at least one month.
Cancellation Policy:
Student Cancellation:
Students will be charged for lessons missed, as the time slot is reserved exclusively for them.
Lessons cancelled will still incur the full $40 charge.
Instructor Cancellation:
If the instructor needs to cancel a lesson, the student will not be charged, unless a makeup lesson is scheduled and agreed upon.
Makeup Lessons:
Makeup lessons can be scheduled if the instructor and student agree upon a suitable time within the same month. Makeup lessons do not incur additional charges if they replace a canceled lesson.
Late Payment:
A late fee of $5 per day late will be applied to payments not received by the due date.
Policy Acknowledgement: By participating in private lessons at Leeds Center For The Arts, you acknowledge and agree to abide by the terms of this payment and cancellation policy.
Guitar Lessons
Teaching Artist: Jayd Raines
Wednesday 4PM-7PM, Ages 10 and up (adults welcome)

Jayd Raines is a multi-instrumentalist originally from Powell County, Kentucky, an area known for cranking out bluegrass musicians. Spending over a decade as a full-time musician, he has worked with some of the best in the business including Marty Raybon, Don Rigsby and Larry Cordle, and has been featured on multiple award nominated albums. He is proficient on banjo, guitar and bass and sings multiple vocal parts. Although he is no longer traveling much, Jayd still enjoys playing music locally and is excited to foster a love for Kentucky 's music through Leeds’ Bluegrass University program and music lessons.
Drum Lessons
Teaching Artist: Philip Moore
Thursday 5PM-8:30PM, Ages 11 and up (adults welcome)

Philip Moore is a performing musician and recording artist in Central Kentucky. Graduating from Visible Music College in Memphis TN, Philip has most notably worked with: Judges - Mark Ronson's "Uptown Special" - Chris Ferrara - Jason Lee McKinney - Matthew Douglas Simpson - The Hazlett Brothers - The Michael Brothers . Attending Lafayette Senior High School in Lexington Kentucky, Philip studied percussion under John Wilmarth, Brian Lewellen, Paul Deatherage and Brian Archinal. In Undergraduate, he continued study with Dave Kropf and Simon Alexander. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in drum set performance, he served as a recording assistant to Boo Mitchell at the legendary Royal Studios in Memphis Tennessee. Later he would move to Nashville TN, to perform with various touring artists. He currently works as a drummer, writer, engineer and producer for local talent. Philip is passionate about drums, artistry and education. From practice room to stage and studio, he aims to inspire the artist in all!
Violin Lessons
Teaching Artist: Benjamin Lin
Saturday 10AM-12PM , Ages 8 and up (adults welcome)

Benjamin Lin is a multi-instrumentalist from Lexington. He is finishing his final semester at the University of Kentucky expecting a triple degree in May 2026 including a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Violin Performance. He is a violinist in the University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, and he plays fiddle with The Grass Cats. Benjamin began competing in fiddle contests at the age of 5 and now holds over 3 dozen fiddle championships including State Fiddle Champion titles in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, Alabama, Idaho, and Ohio as well as numerous regional titles. Benjamin is the 2024 Twin Lakes National Grand Champion, the 2017 Grand Master Youth Champion, and he has placed in the top 5 at the National Fiddle Championships in Weiser, Idaho multiple times. He was also a featured fiddler at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. Benjamin regularly performs on violin, bass, and guitar with church worships bands, orchestra pits, and string quartets. Recently he competed with Christina T and the Six-Shooters at the SPBGMA (Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America) Convention in Nashville where they finished in the top 8. Benjamin is excited to help others find their passion in music at Leeds!
Group Piano Lessons
Teaching Artist: Steve Crosby
Tuesdays from 5:00- 6:00 PM, Ages 7 and up (adults welcome)
Hour time slots
Students will learn in a small group setting, with group and individual learning at each student's own pace. Lessons will be $75 per month with a $25 registration fee (class price). Classes will begin August 18th, 2026. Lessons will end on December 15th. No class on September 29th, October 13th, and December 1st.
